We have sure been enjoying the sunshine. Perhaps a little too much. :)
This is what we have been up to:
Planting a garden. I've really wanted to do this the past few years, but just never really got around to it. I wished I had taken a 'before' picture of this. It was completely overrun with weeds. You see, the people that lived in our house before us had a garden, but we just never paid it one bit of attention. L.J. has been hard at work this week weeding, tilling, and digging to get ready to plant. We are on the final step before planting: a little fence to keep out the little kids and the neighbor's little dog. :)
Riding bikes. I bought this little bike trailer used from a co-worker a few years ago, but we have not really been able to put it to good use yet. We haven't gotten in a whole lot of bike riding between being pregnant, having babies, and a broken leg. But now it's time. We've probably taken these kids 10 miles in the last two days. They LOVE it.
Tonight we were at dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Reader and Grandma asked Ellie, "What do you do sitting in the bike trailer? Do you get bored?" And Ellie said, "No. We just sit back and enjoy the ride. " :)
We went on our first fishing 'trip' of the year. Complete with a princess fishing pole. Ellie caught a fish (she has a killer cast for a 4 year old) -
Addie caught a fish (she was all business when it came to fishing) -
and Macie even got in on some action (but didn't catch a fish).
But the funnest part was chucking marshmallows at the ducks.

Man oh man, I love summer. I'm looking forward to lots of sunshine and adventure (and no injuries)!
