first barbeque.

Last Saturday marked our first barbecue of the year. I just love barbeques. It means it's warm outside. That means I'm happy (I'll move somewhere warm as soon as I can convince LJ. Still working on it :)).

We also played with cousins from California, Idaho, and Utah all weekend.

Love that dimple!

At The Gateway.

Easter egg hunt at Wheeler Farm.

Love, love, love weekends like that. Family, fun, good food, and sunshine. Does it get any better? I don't think so!

vacation.

This is where we were last week. It was totally a spur of the moment, last minute thing. It was a blast.

(can't get the photos in the order I want them, so here they are randomly)

We stayed with some dear friends, Adam and Julia Olsen. Here we are with a storm trooper on the strip.

Julia and I have been best friends since we were 2. Seriously. We grew up living two houses away. We are true BFFs. :) Love her to pieces.

We attended a fundraiser luau for the Downs Sydrome Foundation with Julia and Adam. It was so cool.

This is their Brooklyn. She's the sweetest thing ever. I got asked a few times how old the (her) kids were, and/or if they were twins. All three of Julia's kids have red hair (and mine have blond). We say it's from hanging out together so much when we were little. :)

Me and L.J at the luau.

The awesome fireknife guy that performed at the luau.

The view from the windows of the Stratosphere. We got tickets to go on the rides but they shut it down due to wind by the time we got there. I was sad about that, L.J. was relieved. :)

Probably my favorite site at Las Vegas - the fountains at the Bellagio.

And this is the idea that sparked the vacation, to watch BYU play in the Mountain West Conference Tournament. They didn't do fabulous, but it was still fun to be there live. The game was actually a nail biter, we lost by 2.

What a cute boy!

This is a collage I made of some fun shots from the Bellagio.

Man oh man we had fun. And the weather was beautiful most of the time. A huge thank you to Mom and Dad Stewart for watching the girls, and again to Adam and Julia for being such great hosts! Love you!

worth documenting.

I just wanted to document this day - the first time I can remember that we have ALL made it to church on time! Um, our church is at 1:00. but it seems that inevitably, something comes up. Rather it be a page from work (I'm on-call every other weekend), a child throwing a tantrum over the crooked toe seam in her tights, lost keys, or a variety of other things, it seems that something always prevents us from getting there on time. But not last week! Hahaha! We did it!!

We were actually taking photos because Macie is officially 18 months old now. It was her first week in nursery! Did you hear the choirs of angels singing? Because they were. It was the first week in almost three years we were kid free. It was heaven, I tell ya, heaven! Mace wouldn't cooperate for photos by herself, but we sure love her anyways. :) Everyday Ellie tells me, "Mom, Macie is the cutest baby in the whole world, huh?" And I say, "Yep, she is." And I mean it. :)

afternoon tea.

Today we had afternoon tea. It was delightful. Every week for the last few weeks when I've asked Ellie what she wanted to do for the FHE activity, she says that she wants to have a tea party. Today we finally did it. The girls dressed up in their princess dress ups and we had cookies and tea (pink lemonade) in their Disney tea set. They were perfect angels. Ellie said, "This is the best tea party I have ever been to!" (It's the only tea party she's ever been to). I think it was a success. :)
