Thanksgiving

I Love Thanksgiving. Being with family, good food, and relaxing. As a nurse, I often have to work Thanksgiving, and part of what I was grateful for this year is that I didn't have to work! I have felt so thankful for all of my blessings lately. There is a song by Paul Cardall (http://paulcardall.com/) called Grateful that I have been listening to a lot lately. It says exactly what I feel. I am so thankful for my family and especially for the gospel of Jesus Christ, and for His Sacrifice. I am grateful for the plan of salvation, and the knowledge that we can be together forever as a family.

We spent the day in Hyrum with my family, here are a few photos:

Don't let this happen to you.

We laughed when we found Ellie like this last night, and couldn't resist grabbing the camera!

The Dancing Queen - well, Princess :)

Ellie is in a little dance class once a week. Normally they don't let the parents stay, but this week was the one time every three months that we could stay. It was super cute. However, my suspicions have been confirmed. Ellie is a true blond. She would play with her hands, stare at the ceiling, or lay on the floor until she realized that the girls next to her were doing something else, then she would do what they were doing. True to Ellie style. But to make up for it, she was definitly the cutest one there. :) Ellie's spot was the furthest away from me so I didn't get very many good shots, but here are a few.

We love our little princess!

I Love LJ

I have been so appreciative of LJ lately. It was WONDERFUL to be home with him everyday for 2 months while I was on maternity leave. And these past few weeks since I have been back to work, he has been awesome. When I get home (around 8:30-9:00 pm since I work 12 hour shifts + give report to the next nurse + a 45 minute drive home), the house is totally clean, the dishes and laundry are done, and the kids are bathed and usually in their pajamas. He is also the accountant and the fix it/constuction guy. I have not had to take the garbage out in over a year. He even cooks (pies are his specialty), and is learning to do hair. :) He even does these things on the days that I don't work. But most of all, I love that he is Ellie's best friend. And he is Addie's best friend. They wrestle. They cuddle. They watch Dora and Little Einstein. When they are hurt or sad, they want Daddy. He makes them laugh like no one else can. He is SO patient and loving with them. He does such a good job taking care of Macie, too. I don't know many guys that could take care of a two month old for 14 hours a day. And then add a 1 1/2 year old and a 3 year old to the mix. He amazes me. No, it was never my plan to work full time and have my husband stay home with the kids.

But I am grateful. LJ is the best daddy, ever.

Sweet Nakedness

I came home from work yesterday and LJ had Macie naked - except for socks - airing out. I couldn't resist taking some pictures. I think she gets cuter everyday!

The New Backsplash

I wanted to post some pictures of LJ's newest completed project - tiling the backsplash in the kitchen! It turned out so well and I just love it! I love that he is a perfectionist when it comes to these kinds of things. It is also great to have my own personal handyman. He seriously can do/fix/make almost anything! Our house is 5 years old (2 years old when we moved in). It was in good shape, but just not our style. We are slowly making over every room in the house with new paint, crown molding and baseboards, framing the windows and closets, new lighting and/or light fixtures (LJ used to work as an electrician), and some little unique extras to each room. LJ's Honey-Do List at the moment is:
-knobs and handles for the kitchen cabinets
-molding, beadboard, and tile the kid's bathroom (I'm going to paint it brown and it will have pink accents - love that I can do that since we have all girls!)
-make a toy chest for the girls' room (to match their cute bunkbeds they are getting for Christmas)
-make a bookshelf for the girls' room (that matches also)
-and after all that is done (if I don't come up with anything else), we (okay, HE) will start framing and sheet rocking the basement.
I love my husband! (and my house:))
